In the Chinese Super League, Mile Sterjovski started and played 62 minutes as Dalian Aerbin lost 1-0 at Beijing Guoan. The loss sees Dalian drop to 14th place, only goal difference out of the relegation zone. Milan Susak had a solid game in defence as Tianjin Teda played out a goalless draw with Jonas Salley’s Shanghai Shenxin. Both players played the full 90 minutes with Susak picking up a first half booking.
In the K-League, Josh Kennedy showed he has overcome his back injury, playing the full 90 minutes in Nagoya Grampus’ disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Cerezo Osaka.
Saturday 26th May
In the Serie B, Carl Valeri played the full 90 minutes as Sassuolo finished the regular season with a 3-1 win over Juve Stabia. The result sees Sassuolo finish in 3rd spot, 3 points away from the 2nd and final automatic promotion place. Sassuolo will face Sampdoria in the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday.
In the K-League, Luke Devere’s extended run in the side continued playing the full 90 minutes as Gyeongnam beat Pohang Steelers 1-0. Eddy Bosnar played the full 90 minutes as Suwon Bluewings suffered a shock 3-0 loss to Jeonbuk Motors. Sasa Ognenovski played the full 90 minutes, picking up a 54th minute booking as a 10-man Seongnam held on for a 0-0 draw with Daegu.
In the J-League, Jade North played 90 minutes as Consadole Sapporo slipped to another defeat, this time a 3-1 loss to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Matt Spiranovic made a rare appearance in the Urawa Red Diamonds match-day squad, but remained an unused substitute as Urawa drew 1-1 with Tokyo. Alex Brosque missed Shimizu’s 0-0 draw with Yokohama F.Marinos through suspension.
Sunday 27th May
In the Chinese Super League, Rostyn Griffiths started and played 59 minutes as Guangzhou R&F thumped Changchun Yatai 5-1. Dino Djulbic played the full 90 minutes as Guizhou Renhe lost 2-1 to Shanghai Shenhua, who were missing Joel Griffiths through injury.
In the K-League, Adrian Madaschi played the full 90 minutes as Jeju United consolidated 3rd place with a 2-1 win over Sangju Sangmu. Madaschi picked up a booking early in the second half.
In the Japanese Second Division, Mark Milligan played the full 90 minutes as JEF United moved into second spot with a 2-0 win over Oita Trinata.
In the UAE Pro-League, Mark Bresciano found the net in Al Nasr’s 2-2 draw with Al Shabab. Bresciano struck on 85 minutes to make it 2-1, placing the ball home after finding himself 1 on 1 with ‘keeper Ismail Rabee Juma, however Al Shabab struck in stoppage time to secure a point. The result sees Al Nasr finish the season in second position, earning qualification for next seasons Asian Champions League.
In the Serbian Second Division, Matthew Bryne played 90 minutes as Donji Srem earned promotion with a 1-0 win over Kolubara. Donji sealed promotion with 2 games remaining.
In the MLS, Andy Rose played the full 90 minutes and picked up a first half yellow card in Seattle’s 1-1 draw with Chivas USA.
Monday 28th May
In the K-League, Matt McKay played the full 90 minutes as Busan I’Park played out another 0-0 draw with Chunnam Dragons, it was Busan’s fourth 0-0 draw in the past 9 matches. Robert Cornthwaite was replaced at half time for Chunnam while Matt Simon was missing with injury. Nathan Burns was absent with injury as Incheon United lost 3-1 to Seoul.
Tuesday 29th May
In the Asian Champions League, Josh Kennedy played 90 minutes as Nagoya Grampus were bundled out of the competition, losing 1-0 to Adelaide United. Kennedy was desperately unlucky not to score on 33 minutes, as his goal bound header was remarkably saved by Adelaide ‘keeper Eugene Galekovic. David Carney played 90 minutes before being replaced in injury time as Bunyodkor booked their spot in the final 8 with a 1-0 win over Sasa Ognenovski’s Seongnam. Ognenovski played 90 minutes for the Korean side.
Wednesday 30th May
In the Serie B play-offs, Carl Valeri played the full 90 minutes as Sassuolo lost 2-1 away to Sampdoria in the first leg. The second leg will take place on Sunday.
