COMING NOW: Jesus Shuttlesworth's Top 10 Rap Albums of All Time.
Gonna begin compiling my list, hopefully I'll be finished by the time Goon finishes his list so there's no break in TIA's list reading needs (and so I'm not stepping on his toes.)
Thoughts and predictions very welcome, if anyone cares.#YOTS

I will reveal that there is no artist with 2 albums in the top 10 (haven't got my #10 yet however, so that could potentially change.)

OK since Goon is dead I'll start this list off with some selections that just missed the cut (no order: )
Nas: The Lost Tapes
A Tribe Called Quest: Midnight Marauders
Atmosphere: Sad Clown Bad Dub 2
Kanye West: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Black Star: Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star
ps. I lied about an artist not having 2 albums in the top 10.
Edit: Big Sledge, Narkee, r dub, MelanieJ, Dogbloke V2 PeKing Duck etc. etc.Last edited by Shuttlesworth; 7th March 2012 at 10:54 AM.

Array Rep Power:       38 Reputation:       7002 Must say I was very surprised to see "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" out of the top 10. Makes the list all the more intriguing.
Can't wait!

Without further ado:
#10 - Reasonable Doubt - Jay-Z (1996)

Following in the steps of fellow ‘mafioso rappers’ such as Kool G Rap and Raekwon, Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt mainly deals with Jay’s experiences whilst dealing crack for the best part of his life. Widely regarded as one of the cornerstone albums of the rap genre, Jay confidently showcases his mastery of writing, honed for years while standing on street corners, and his superb; ever-changing flow and his outstanding lyricism on classic tracks like Can’t Knock the Hustle, Can I Live and D’Evils. As is often the case with Jay-Z releases, the overall quality of the release is dragged down by some less than perfect track(s), which in Reasonable Doubt’s case is the awful Ain’t no Nigga, which comes after arguably the greatest opening run in rap history beginning with the near perfect opener Can’t Knock the Hustle and ending with Can I Live, which is considered by many to be one of the best songs in rap music history. Whether you’re a Jay fan or not, there’s no doubting that Reasonable Doubt is an essential listen for anybody that likes rap music.
