Played last night while the Diablo III servers were down, went 10-5 with a Windrunner. Had some ridiculous assists as well. Still a GAWD*

I dont mind steam, hardly play games at all but allows me to still keep in contact with all the old gaming friends i had.

Pretty sure they are just cosmetic items to make your character look more 'unique' when you play.

Yeah thats correct.

Dota 2 will not be a pay-to-win game. All the items in the store are cosmetic, and don’t affect gameplay.
All of the heroes will be available free of charge. We believe restricting player access to heroes could be destructive to game design, so it’s something we plan to avoid.

Valve is a money hungry company though, so i'm eager to see how it'll pan out. Surely cosmetic items won't have that high of demand? Maybe buy-in tournaments that are constantly happening? Maybe buy-in pub games? (Real life money).

Damn, could you imagine the rage in those games...

If your one is Sprite I somehow managed to send you a request rather than accepting your one....

I more of an xfire > steam person myself.

You can also buy things that will boost the XP you get per game by like 75%. So those that are really serious about leveling up quickly I could see forking out a bit of money to do that....hahaha

Im guessing it will just be the same as Team Fortress 2. I didnt know anyone who bought them, but getting items was a popular aspect. But will be interesting in how they do make money as like you said i cant see heaps of people buying items. Those bracers you got are worth 75 cents in the shop

Ahhh i used to use xfire years ago but then steam integrated everything i used xfire for so i had no need for it.

Played last night for the first time, got dominated in all the games i played with a mate. We kept getting put against organised clan teams

. But its so much better than original DOTA.

I started to get the hang of it again after a few games but i have forgotten all the recipes and what i should buy for each hero
