    Yeah probably not.

I can probably push more doing barbell, but I just don't really feel safe doing it.

Just measured waist, biceps and over chest/shoulders.

Quite happy I have a 1:1.6 waist to shoulder ratio (1:1.61 is the universal best for aesthetics)

Biceps are at 14.5 inches which are half an inch increase from before

I know exactly what you mean, once I got to an 80kg bench I started using straps. Was on holidays a month ago and went to the gym, didn't have my straps and felt very vulnerable without them.

With the straps the extra grip allows me to cheat somewhat I guess and bring other muscles into the equation to get my final press out. Without them I don't have enough purchase on the bar to be able to do that.

Not to mention this morning I saw a PT getting their client to do leg press using a smith machine. For those playing at home I don't mean squats, I mean this chick was laying on the ground using her feet to propel the smith bar... wtf???

    Clearly not wanking enough

Srs tho with a spotter I wouldn't use them but because I am at the gime, they are my security for not breaking my sternum. I use them for deads and chins too but that's to save my hands from getting ripped to shreads not for grip. Thanks to years of water skiing my forearms are fairly strong

Back day today, started doing deadlifts with alternate grip instead of overhand.

Literally a million times better. Strong at myself for not doing so earlier.

On another note, woke up at 3:10pm, went to gym at 3:30 without eating, couldn't get through my last exercise (slow row)

So anyway after becoming a bit of a fat fuck over the past few years (damn you slowing metabolism!) I have decided to pull my finger out and lose some weight before I get married in March.

I am moderately active. I play indoor soccer a couple of times per week during the summer and once per week during the Winter. I also play hockey in Winter which involves a moderate level of training once a week and a game.

I used to lift weights back when I was in my early 20's but I stopped after I had a series of knee injuries.

Started using a online food diary to monitor my intake and have been doing a basic weights routine for the past 6 weeks just using dumbells (15kg each) and some calisthenics exercises.

I am 115 kg at over 190 cm but want to get it down to 90's by the wedding and hopefully under 90 by the end of next year.

I haven't weighed myself since I started but I will in another 6 weeks. Missus thinks I have lost weight though.

Start weighing yourself now mate and keep track of your progress (ie write it down), very motivational.

Speaking of weight, anyone know where I can get a relatively cheap set of scales that shows body fat %?

Also in need of a dips/chin ups equipment. Would my best shot just be looking through classifieds?

I am not sure I want to do that as your weight fluctuates to much during a day and even a week.

I just prefer to weigh my self at set intervals ie. every 2 months or so to see the overall trend.
