I cant believe people still play Counter Strike (only found this out today). WTF happened to computer gaming. Is it that far behind the rest of the common world?

PC gaming is pretty much dead right now.

It's too easy to pirate PC games so the developers focus on consoles.

Yeah, I'm working 20 hours a week at Liquorland atm but looking to move on to something full-time now that I'm finished with Uni.



Preferably something in finance, but I'm open to a variety of office jobs tbh.

ZERO chance in finance considering alot of companies in that field are shifting operations away from Gold Coast (pretty grim economy in Gold Coast nowadays). Most companies are just moving from Gold Coast due to the recent surge in cost of living within the area (due to lower tourism). You would be competing really with experienced people in the industry for work in the Gold Coast.

Even office work is hard to find. With the Comm. Games and other project developments going around most are saying that the Gold Coast workforce growth is 100% in the trade and construction section. Problem with this is husband moves to be a tradie, wifey comes along and wants job in office setting. Its a shithouse place to look for work really because there are few to zero government jobs, no office jobs and in reality the town survives on retail and construction.

My advice would be to well embrace one of these two, get a certificate in IT. Dont really get how a city so big has so few IT jobs around. Would have to change sooner or later

I thought it was dieing. I just didnt realise it was well decompossing and smelling like death. Amazing really its in that bad of shape. Would think the creators of computer parts would have some interest in well PC game development.

Create game, need more RAM, better graphics etc, buy new computer parts, yay

Disagree - PC gaming has seen a huge increase in popularity as digital distribution has become the norm.

That makes it 100 times easier. Still not ideal though because well they dont pay like they do in Sydney despite the fact cost of living is edging closer to the Sydney levels. Also have the problem IMO as well competing with too many people for a relatively small job market. Alot of experienced people that move to the area and pollute the market place so to speak

Think in say 2-5 years or so theres going to be a ton of jobs in the financial sector in Adelaide as more and more companies shift some of there operations with the impending mining boom

I've come to realise of late that I cant really stand gaming. The occasional game of fifa is good but im so terrible on consoles compared to mates that it saps some of the enjoyment. Other stuff, Cod etc, is boring as fuck

I am the EXACT same. I suck on consoles so bad nowadays I have given up. Dont bother on computers either.

Only things i like are the occasional manager game, and even then it's about two weeks of too much played followed by dormant for two years

My attention span with gaming is so low. I last probably 2 hours at best, but 1 hour is the norm. Got a PS3 sitting next to me that hasn't been played in a month or two. Just cbf.
