Some idiot stole my number plates today.

Rather they just took the car to be honest, it'd be less fucking around.

I had that happen to me a few years ago when I went to the movies at Arndale (for the Adelaide brah's, you'll know it) with some mates one night and when we came out to go home I never noticed they were gone. I mean, how often do you look for your number plate to see if it is missing? So I was driving me and my flatmate home and our other mate who had been behind us pulls up alongside me at the next lights and tells me my number plate is gone. I thought he was having a laugh, but he assured me he was serious. I told him I would check it when I got home.

Sure enough, no number plate. I called the police and they came and took a statement and told me that if they found them they would give them back but don't get my hopes up and just go to the rego place and get new ones. Three days later, I get a call saying my plates had been used in a drive off from a servo and they had them at the Pt Adelaide police station if I wanted them.

I don't get it though, you stole my plates which are registered on a Ford Fairmont. Now, unless they're actually smart (which I doubt, considering they were caught 100m from the scene) and targeted certain cars, it ain't gonna work on a Holden Barina.

There was some middle-aged man sitting in the station, I assumed he was one of the dads cause once I mentioned 'number plates' to the cop he wouldn't look at me.

I'm just glad I stopped for dinner to be honest, as you said its not often you actually check for your plates, and in my defense it was pitch black and in an un-lit part of the car park.
