Had a huge case of Murphy's Law last night in Sydney. Phone was dead, was all out of money and I missed my train home by seconds (watched it drive out of the station).

I managed to get onto my cousin I was staying with and he told me to go to the pub he works at and get his keys. After a one hour wait to get through the door I couldn't find him so just went and slept sober at Central Station for the night (strong hobo) before taking a delayed as fuck morning train home today.

Reminds me of a night where I ran out of money and battery life and then caught a train home. Only I was bind drunk, caught the wrong train and then fell asleep. Ended up about 2 hours away from home by the time I woke up.

Right in the main terminal, there were a few other travelers doing it and it was more of an extended lie down sort of thing. I went for a few walks up George and Bourke St to pass the time and even got asked by a bloke if I knew where any brothels were (I felt more than tbh)

I slept at Maccas one night after a huge fight with an ex GF.... Had to use my last $50 to take her home in a taxi because I didn't want her to get a cab home by herself... Dropped her off at her house in mitcham she begged me to come inside and sleep in the spare room at least... As I was so fucking furious with her I didn't wanna be near her I said just go inside and I'll call you tomorrow... Got out of the cab at nunawading 24hr Maccas and slept in the restaurant... Manager wakes me up at about 7 or 8am and says you'll have to leave now... Felt like such a bum

Caught the train home... When I told my best mate the next day he was like fuck man I would have come got you... Which would have been at least a 2.5 hour round trip

Make it happen mods! I think I've told the story on here before but the night of last year's Grand Final I drunkenly lost my shit and set my bearings and started walking north. Unfortunately I got lost in one of the paddocks at the Uni Ag Institute and ended up having a couple of hours sleep at the winery before trekking back into town when the sun came up

I've checked it out on Google Maps and I did at least 30km

Indie / alternative music is no longer about musical style or how independent you are. Its about who you market yourself towards. Regardless of the quality of lana del ray's music (which i don't think is that bad, certainly better than some of the stuff thats out in the mainstream but not to my taste) what i've always tried to argue is that Del Ray is inauthentic in a music scene that tries to despise inauthenticity.

Whilst i have my strong criticisms about the indie music scene aswell, one can see the appeal in targeting your music towards that group. It's massive - sales will be great, its alot easier to break into than the mainstream scene, and it brings with it critical acclaim.

So in essence, what i'm saying is that Del Ray's management have targeted her image and music at the alternative / indie scene. They do this through album production - certain elements like the orchestral pop arrangement and the glam, hip hop and surf influences... but most importantly through who they mail press releases too, and their marketing campaigns.

Video Games was released on youtube with what appeared to be an 'independently' made video, featuring an old and retro look. The video would have been posted in the correct forums / music circles and then it took off.

Finally, if Lana Del Ray is not marketed as an 'indie artist', and i am completely off hilt like you say i'd like to ask why there has been such a controversy surrounding her image. There are many artists in the mainstream who are completely manufactured. Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Britney Spears are all the product of intense image manipulation - and then you can also see male artists like David Bowie, 'Bono' and 'The Edge' (or Paul and David by birth) who haven't receive any criticism for their similar image manipulations. I'd argue that's because such things have become a staple of mainstream music... Whereas the controversy arises with Lana Del Ray due to the fact it brings into question the integrity of the indie music scene and shows that it's making steps towards assimilating with the mainstream.

Does passed out count? I passed out out the front of 'a Bar called Barry's' and my mates didn't realise and left me there. Another mate woke me up about an hour later and then I preceded to vomit everywhere as he was trying to get me a cab. I apparently only just missed one of the cops with my spew that were standing around me. I then passed out again in the cab and woke up on my neighbours doorstep.

Could just be 'Places you've slept while sober'. I slept the night at the end of Cowes Jetty once. 38 degrees so it was too hot in our house. Very relaxing and I was sober. I would like to say it was with a hot chick but it was just two mates. Surprised we actually fell asleep though. Those old guys that fish off the ends of jetty's and never catch anything woke us up at about 6am.
