I'll still stand by my opinion that some fights Tyson would get a good combination in and get an early round knockout and some fights Ali would hold Tyson out and score a later round TKO. I don't think you can say that one boxer would conclusively win all time.

I'd be just as interested in Tyson-Foreman tbh

I love that video so much
    Agreed with every point raised

Tyson fought decent technical boxers and lost. Often.

Its a question of style more than anything. Tyson was a flat track bully, who struggled against anyone with decent left jab.

    Larry Holmes would've destroyed him

Suffice to say it may not have been prime Holmes

He's only lost to five boxers. His last two fights shouldn't even count, he just jumped in the ring because he was bankrupt and got knocked out both times by inferior opponents, he was also 40 and well passed his prime. He didn't care about the result just desperately needed money... Partially ruined his legacy unfortunately.

So that leaves him losing only to Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. All are massive names in boxing.

From what I've read those two (especially Lewis) ducked him until he was past it as well

4:24 onwards, shit gets real. Listen to the fuckin crowd... hair-raising stuff

I don't think people realise just how ridiculous Foreman's power was. The man had bricks for fists.
I say, steady on old chap

    Why no poll?

Secondly it's all irrelevant next to this man

I think the prime part was implied.

Holmes has a much greater case to be goat than tyson.

Tyson was a latter day foreman.

Further i don't see the argument why prison is an excuse for his decline, didnt hurt bernard hopkins.

Douglas burst tysons mystique, when he lost that, he lost "it"

not sure what you've been reading, but Lennox is a year older and Holyfield 4 years older than Tyson.

pretty hard for an older dude to wait until the younger bloke is past it.

sure, I don't have much an issue with that.

Other than that those names he lost to, are much bigger names than any of the guys he beat. there are no massive names in his win column (presuming old age pensioners don't count). Douglas is only a big name because he beat Tyson.

Ali for example lost to Frazier, lost to Norton, lost to Leon Spinks, but he also beat Frazier, Norton & Spinks. He also beat Sonny freakin' Liston, George Foreman etc.
