Best on Ground today right?
20 uncontested possessions, 50% disposal efficiency (probably even lower by foot) and 8 clangers.

Array Rep Power:       17 Reputation:       2405 Kornes went to him after HT to quell his influence, which freed up Griffen.
Power being Boyd-centric also allowed Mitch Wallis the freedom to be the leading clearance winner on the ground and get his hand on the ball. Another good game under his belt, wonders for his development.
This is why we didn't trade Boyd. See how bad Jack Trengove is at Melbourne now? James McDonald could have easily been his Matthew Boyd.

Must be a coincidence.Well, Your Honor. We've plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence.

Array Rep Power:       24 Reputation:       3353 People act like Joel Bowden wasn't one of the league leaders in metres gained (that is distance gained measured towards your own goal), even at his "worst" in the twilight of his career...
I wouldn't say Boyd is any less damaging that Priddis either. He's just in the same spot Priddis is in a couple of years ago (and Shane Tuck was in last year), where the volume-possession workhorse with average skills gets criticised because his team isn't winning.Last edited by Damon_3388; 28th June 2012 at 02:48 AM.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Array Rep Power:       2 Reputation:       124 Boyd's work around the clearances are his best asset, other than that he is a good ordinary player.
He would definitely benefit in a good midfield as purely an extractor, rather than being in a weak midfield where they rely on his outside work which does let him down.
He's had a very solid career and has got the most out of himself as a once rookie listed player.

Array Rep Power:       18 Reputation:       1571 What I said? If Cooney fires then Boyd isn't relied on as much. Dub said they should traded him, but if Cooney was there he definitely would have been fine to stay as the 3rd best mid not 2nd as he is now.
He's basically fucked, think like others he played on it while injured too much. Can only really b a forward now who drifts up the ground.
