Array Rep Power:       21 Reputation:       3151 I agree with what else you wrote, but this part is completely wrong and pretty unfair to Eddie and co.
Firstly, the bolded is way off because when the succession plan was put in place, Malthouse hadn't actually made us achieve at the highest level like you said. It was in place before the 2010 flag, when he had been at the club for almost a decade without winning a flag.
Secondly, as Beast said, it was a two way street. It wasn't a matter of Eddie deciding Malthouse had to go. Mick wanted to be phased out and was completely on board with it at the time.
I don't know it for sure, but I reckon it'd be reasonable to speculate that Buckley turned down the North Melbourne coaching job because this plan was under way. I don't think it would've been right to shaft Buckley for another year or two because Mick changed his mind. He earned himself a heap of credits because of the 2010 flag as you said, but not enough to be changing his mind and having the club just accept it.
But like you said, Malthouse should have no place in this thread from a Collingwood fan's point of view. He fucked up a bit last year, especially in the finals, but as far as I'm concerned he's a club legend after the 2010 flag.Last edited by smiddaz; 26th June 2012 at 08:19 AM.

Array Rep Power:       19 Reputation:       2768 Luke Darcy has quickly become one of my most hated. FFS half the 'throws' he tried to show the other day to prove his point that "West Coast are chuckers" weren't even throws!
Never seen such a self righteous fuckhead take a 'holier than thou' approach. I never really liked the Bulldogs for how they used to be 15 or so years ago (that all in brawl with Michael Gardiner, and unlikable bogans cunts like Danny Southern representing them and choking opposition players, the team were a bunch of thugs). Wonder what squeaky clean Darcy thought of his teammates on that day?

But sorry brah, as far as your team goes, don't like them even 10-15 years on, and despite the fact you guys are probably now one of the least likely teams to start a brawl. You're still ahead of teams like Essendon, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Carlton in likability though.
Richmond and North probably my favourite Vic teams.
The rest are pretty

Destroyed Hentschel's career just as he was turning into a gun for us.

Looking back on those days you wonder just how long those suspensions would be. Southern only got a fine for that btw, and Sumich passed out.
Tbf, most of my memories from my younger days relate to us playing the Bulldogs in some form. Loved the 7 goal to nothing head start we gave them before getting it all back by half time and proceeding to beat them
