Hey guys thought this would be an interesting thread to discuss/re asses over the duration of the season.
Simply it's making of the list of the teams that you think can win the flag this year and ranking them from most likely to least likely.
I will put up my initial thoughts and re asses in the later rounds.
At this stage in round 2 I believe there are 5 teams that can win the flag. In the preseason I thought there were only 3 (Geelong, Hawthorn and Collingwood). At this stage I see no clear favourite and believe that this list will be chopped and changed a lot through the season.
Ok let’s get on with it.
1. Hawthorn- I know some people won't agree with me here after the loss but I still feel from what I have seen in the first two rounds that they are still the favourites. They have a lot of firepower up forward and in the midfield and with the addition of Hodge and a fully fit Roughead they should be a hard team to stop come September. Are hanging on to the number one ranking by a thread.
2. West Coast- Are sitting in a dominant position at 2-0 and are looking forward to playing GWS next week. Before the season I didn't think West Coast could win the flag as I didn't think they would finish top 2 (which as we know is vital for interstate sides in winning a flag). However I am now convinced they can and if they do it's hard not seeing them make the grand final. The really impressive thing about West Coast is their improved midfield depth and pressure, which are vital ingredients in winning a flag. Will be watching their matches with interest.
3. Geelong- Are a tough team to place after their disappointing loss to Fremantle but their very impressive win against the Hawks. I still have question marks about their depth after the retirements of Ottens, Mooney, Ling and others, however the kids have been impressive and if they keep this form up they could move up the rankings. One of the harder teams to read but as we all know, time will tell.
4 Carlton- I still have question marks over Carlton but so far they have shown the goods. Although the opposition they played aren't ''premiership class" they still did it in a convincing manner. The big test is the Pies this Friday and if they get the job done I will start to believe more and more that they are real deal. If they are going to be real contenders some of their lesser players will need to stand up against the big sides.
5 Collingwood- Have been the least convincing sides out of the 5 but can't be counted out. They are missing a few players but can't be counted out as they have been one of the dominant sides of the last few seasons. As mentioned before Carlton is a big test for both sides and if Collingwood win they will probably leap frog Carlton in the rankings.
Would love to hear your thoughts, fire away!

4. West Coast
Carlton aren't a chance, they will never get it done with that forward line which has been evident season after season.#FirstTakeCrew #TIACMB

Array Rep Power:       68 Reputation:       12308 1. GWS: A great mix of youth and experience, the coaching brilliance of Kevin Sheedy and rugby league superstar Israel Folau should be enough to drag the new kids on the block over the line come September
2. Gold Coast: Gary Ablett to carry the whole team in one hand while accumulating 700 possessions with the other
3. Melbourne: Jurrah to cut it up
4. Fremantle: Kepler Bradley and Michael Johnson, but now with added Ross Lyon. What's not to like?
5. Port Adelaide: Last season was an elaborate ploy to lull the rest of the league into a false sense of security
Being slightly more serious
1. Geelong
2. Hawthorn
3. Collingwood
4. West Coast. Channel Seven Perth to up their weekly quota of Nic Nat related stories from 5 to 18 if this happens.

Essendon, Adelaide and Sydney have a combined 0.01% chance but still technically "can" win the flag.Well, Your Honor. We've plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence.
