Array Rep Power:       30 Reputation:       4243 TBH, the main reason I support North was because everybody in my school was either a Carlton/Collingwood/Essendon supporter. And I got into the AFL relatively late (1998 / aged 9).
I looked at the ladder in late 98, laughed and jumped on the top team. And then we beat the Carlton/Essendon cunts to the flag a year later.
And yes, I did the same with Arsenal in 98.

Array Rep Power:       78 Reputation:       12214 Definitely watch a few games first and get a feel for the game and the clubs. Eventually you'll gravitate towards one. That's how I found myself supporting the Ravens in the NFL last year and haven't looked back.
That being said Adelaide are the reigning premiers of 2012
Seriously though we are a team on the rise and should get better each year you watch for the next few years

Array Rep Power:       12 Reputation:       2208 Hawks seem to always have that young female goal umpire. I find myself watching their games and hoping for a lot of scoring shots (at her end).
Defs worth a watch.

Array Rep Power:       11 Reputation:       1051 I'd jump on one of the new teams to be honest.
It'll take a while until you will consistenly start seeing victory but in 4-5 years time...
