Array Rep Power:       38 Reputation:       3895 Good newsAlan Pardew says Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye looks okay after he was was stretchered off early in Newcastle’ 1-0 win over lowly Queens Park Rangers.
The Frenchman was fuming after a late challenge by Shaun Derry.
However, Alan Pardew stated post match that he believes the injury is not as bad as first feared, and that the midfielder may be available for next week’s trip to Fulham.
“Cabaye looks okay, We might scan him, we might not, but it is not an injury which will give us a problem.”
“Yohan was upset. He felt it was probably a little bit over-exuberant, but the doc thinks he is going to be OK.”
Despite fan cries for a red card, the Newcastle manager seemed happy with Chris Foy’s decision to only brandish a yellow to Shaun Derry.
“It was a strong challenge, but Shaun Derry is a player who makes strong challenges. The referee was right on top of it. I thought it was borderline, but I think probably it was a yellow. He seemed to get the ball.”
Newcastle will hope Cabaye is available next weekend, as the side are already without Cheik Tiote and Demba Ba, who are at the African Cup of Nations.

Newcastle United agree fee for Papiss Cisse - NUFC Latest News - Newcastle United - ChronicleLiveNEWCASTLE UNITED have agreed a fee of around £10million for Senegal goal machine Papiss Cisse.
The player today jetted into Tyneside and became the Magpies' first January signing from German club Freiburg - the side he has netted 37 goals in 65 games.
Cisse now gets the chance to fulfil his Premier League dream, he had said: "I love the Premier League and want to make my name like my mate Demba Ba is doing with Newcastle United at the moment."
United's near neighbours Sunderland were also keen on Cisse but he has opted to switch to Tyneside.

Array Rep Power:       38 Reputation:       3895 Newcastle United are set to seal a deal for Freiburg star Papiss Cisse, Sky Sports understands.
The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the most feared strikers in Germany over the past 18 months.
He scored 22 goals last season and has already scored nine this term.
The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Blackburn and Aston Villa have all been strongly linked whilst Sunderland were understood to be close to sealing a deal last summer.
The Black Cats have again been strongly linked this January, but it is now believed that Newcastle are close to pulling off a transfer coup.
Cisse has been away with Senegal, coincidentally with Newcastle's Demba Ba.
Cisse is now on Tyneside at the club's training ground to undergo a medical and finalise the deal before flying back out to Africa.
The deal, which will be worth around £10million, is sure to shock many as it was thought Newcastle's only target this month would be a new central defender.
Freiburg have already moved to sign a replacement after bringing in Sebastian Freis from Cologne on Tuesday.

Array Rep Power:       80 Reputation:       8723 Very very sneaky. Played the whole "strikers are too expensive in January card" then BANG. Do think this will keep Demba Ba happy. Doubt hes leaving after a signing like this has taken place. Id say its probably the biggest signing I can remember you making in recent time (although my memory blows). Atleast since Ashley took over
