His Ashes selection was poor, he wasn't in any sort of form by that stage and should have been back at NSW.

Don't know where you got those stats from, but I just went through the raw match data and found 50 wickets @ 25.68. Worth noting there are a couple of token Brett Lee performances against Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya in there.

EDIT - I could also go through the cards and tell you how many games he has gone at over 5+ an over if you like, but I suspect we both know the answer to that will be about 80%.

I just don't get the point of continuing to play him. We have so many good quality first class bowlers performing well at state level, and those that have been able to break into the side have done very well. So why continue to persist with Lee? Let him go and cash in on his "Indian darling" status in the IPL.
