There'll be opportunities.

Maxy will get the opportunities - Wright and Voges aren't likely to return and there's every chance Bailey will be in the Aus squad (if we retain him) come the Summer.

Same goes for Wade if we retain him, he'll be there or thereabouts in the Aussie test team (depending on how Paine goes in the Aus A tour).

No word on White yet and with the Renegades seemingly losing all their players, they'd want to have a crack at him.

You'd think White would be switching to the renegades to captain as I can't see him just accepting being stripped of the captaincy even if it is for warney.

Renegades are going to struggle though by the looks of it so far.

There's a fair chance it might happen, surprised no-one has had a crack at Gilly yet either.

Would be a decent option, as a captain and a keeper/batsman too.

But White loves Warney, and White was saying he's loved just being able to concentrate on his batting while others have been leading the sides in the IPL (he captained one or two games) and in the T20 comp in England.

So, if Warney does get announced as captain of the Stars for S2 (which the article I read the other day was proven to be false), I think White could still play under Warney, but whether he's actually guaranteed a place in the side is another thing.

Renegades just tweeted: this just in from out latest signing - "I won't let the Melbourne fans down, the beard will be back".

Seems as though Dirty Dirk Nannes will be announced tomorrow.

Hoping the Stars can re-sign Jackson Bird, made huge strides last season thanks to us giving him a game, thinking he'll feel welcome because our fans got right behind any bowler not named Jade Dernbach.

Couldn't hit the track when he bowled, dropped catches. Was so bad.

Will neg Dernbach.

Hopeful (but chances are slim) on Luke Wright returning.

Hopefully we retain Quiney, Wade, Hussey, Warne, Bird and McKay from last years core group, to go with the additions we've already had.

If we can then nab a Malinga (like I've been hearing), things are looking rosy.

A fit John Hastings (if we retain him) adds to the line up as well.

Bailey, Voges and White (although he's in form and I'd prefer to keep him) can leave if they want more opportunites (and Bailey may be in the test side anyway).

I assume we'll retain Patto and Siddle (but most likely will both be on international duty all summer again).
