Thanks for everything, Fergie

Array Rep Power:       16 Reputation:       1719 Did not see the England v France game but I have to laugh at Gerrard.
Steven Gerrard: "We would have been delighted with a win. France have fantastic players, but we created as many chances as they did. We're satisfied with the performance. We had young players but good players. Oxlade-Chamberlain showed he is good enough at this level."
Then I took a look at the stats which shows France 19 shots at goal 15 on target, England 3 shots at goal 1 on target.

Array Rep Power:       80 Reputation:       8679 Just watched the replay then (well fast forward through it). Both teams were very very poor. Frances formation was just all wrong. Ribery had to be out left and another striker should of started like Giroud.
Englands midfield was too slow, Wellbeck was very poor and looked out of his depth too. France really should of won this game on the balance of play. They just named a lineup that was too defensive in the endShutup. If I wanted too I could come down there and beat you like a rented mule, or a mule for purchase. Bottom line is if there is livestock involved, ill beat you like it

Array Rep Power:       80 Reputation:       8679 What did he do well? He was trying to hold the ball up which he did. The problem is once you do this you need to pass it off and involve your midfield. He didnt do this. Almost like he was holding the ball up for himself. I know alot of people have rated him BOG but I dont really understand how or why other then the fact the rest of the Englands midfield was awful there was no one else that actually stood out. I guess it depends how you define a hold up striker really in terms of doing his role properly or not
I have no doubt Peter Crouch would of done a better job in that role. Laughable that Defoe got on the plane ahead of himLast edited by Embers; 12th June 2012 at 10:42 AM.

Array Rep Power:       15 Reputation:       2069 It's not so far fetched as those stats suggest. France were poor and were restricted to mainly pop sots from out of the box.
If you want an example of how irrelevant match stats can be, then check out the link below. No one would ever suggest we were the better team in this match, despite having more shots, more shots on target, more corners and more possession.

Take stats with a pinch of salt is my suggstion.

Array Rep Power:       6 Reputation:       818 Embers Wellbeck was fine. My explanation for him not dishing it off to midfielders (which I didnt notice) is because Gerrard and Parker were playing so deep. He did a damn site better than Benzema. brb playing lone striker but playing alongside Nasri for most of the game.
