Brent Stanton is rightly getting all the attention as the big improver, but this guy keeps on flying under the radar. He was a good solid 15-22 on the list player last year, and even his NAB Cup form hardly filled me with heaps of confidence, but since Hibberd went down on ANZAC Day, Kyle has been a mini-Dustin Fletcher. He plays tall and small (was equally comfortable on Betts and Pyke/Mumford) and besides the talls in Hooker, Fletcher and Carlisle is dominating the intercept marks in the backline (from the naked eye anyway). His kicking isn't fantastic, but he's started playing within his limits and looking for shorter options rather than bombing long to low percentage targets.
The most under-rated aspect of his game though is his pace over 5m. He has an uncanny knack of burning people off as soon as he gets the ball and starting our rebound from there, rather than being caught and forced to handball.
Would be astounded if he isn't top 7-10 in the B&F thus far.Well, Your Honor. We've plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence.

Has been impressive to the point where I'd trade one of your other KPDs.

Array Rep Power:       52 Reputation:       8497 He's not a KPD, but he's capable of pinch hitting there. Best suited on guys like Andrew Walker or Mark Le Cras who aren't overly tall but are still more than capable in the air. Has a better leap than anyone on our list bar Ryder too.
Imagine a thread on a team board talking about a player from that team who's playing well.Well, Your Honor. We've plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence.

Array Rep Power:       38 Reputation:       3895 Been very good this year. Has the ability to take a strong mark to break up play, and is deceptively quick.

Array Rep Power:       29 Reputation:       5340 I think it was the Richmond game he clangered kicking out of defence numerous times which had me tearing my hair out. Apart from that though he has had a decent year.
It's nice to have to have someone other than Slattery to bring in when we are lacking in smaller backs anyway.
Edit: been meaning to start posting on the Essendon board a lot more. Will try my best to fire up.Last edited by Jobe; 11th June 2012 at 12:58 AM.

Array Rep Power:       52 Reputation:       8497 And we have our first post that would be in the upper echelons of a BF thread (not that that's even a high benchmark).
Absolutely agree about the clanger kicks, but what's often missed is the hard work he's done to get the ball beforehand. The Shaw goal last night was a perfect example. He was the only player to get goal side of Jetta all night, held him off in a footrace and marked from a very awkward position before turning it over. The net result was he saved a certain goal then gifted them a certain goal.Well, Your Honor. We've plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence.

Array Rep Power:       5 Reputation:       836 Well if I can get this back on topic a little Kyle has been defiantly been one of the big surprises everyone was looking at Zaharakis ,melksham, colyer ect. to step up but Kyle has been the stand out for sure. Got to love the agility he has the kid can jump and take a good grab. Sort of reminds me of Jarred Brennen when he was actually not a bad player. (not since he moved to GC) wouldn't mind seeing him go forward every now and then maybe when Hurley has to go back put Kyle up forward.
