    It was my understanding that if Atkinston had handed a yellow card for that challenge then Balotelli couldnt have got a ban because it was dealt with on the field.

    Since he didnt do anything on gameday about the challenge, I was expecting a 3 match ban on top of his red card ban. Very suprised the FA arnt doing anything about it.

    It doesn't matter if he gave him a yellow card, if he says he saw it they can't do anything about it.

    The FA can only hand out bans if the officials say they didn't see the incident.

    Yep, the rule is that the referee's decision is final, there can only be a subsequent judgement if the referee didn't adjudicate. Because Atkinson says he saw it and judged it not even a foul () there's nothing the FA can do.

    Also covers the Derry one, for the decision to be overturned they have to prove no foul at all, and it's hard to prove a negative.

    Of course Young should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. Shocking dive.
