Array Rep Power:       14 Reputation:       1971 So everyone kept saying. "They're too good to go down." We weren't.
Hence floating between 16th and 19th for the best part of 4 months until he got the arse. Hodgson was entirely capable of relegating LFC.
Obviously relegation would've been far more costly than bad signings and contracts. Let's not forget some of the shocking albatross contracts Roy was involved in handing out too.
Funny thing is, for all the bad, expensive English signings, they'll all have reasonable resale value, because there's always plenty of dumb British managers that don't like 'fowweners' and will pay through the nose to get an 'English International', despite the fact they suck.Sebastian Vettel - 3x Formula One World Champion - 2010, 2011, 2012

Array Rep Power:       19 Reputation:       2900 This whole 'haha liverpool is so shit even Rodgers turned you down' thing is bullshit...
1. He's not ready and he knows it. 2. We only approached him to see if he would be interested in an interview which we will do with many candidates. 3. He would know we have other candidates and we are just doing due diligence by talking to him and it is highly unlikely he would get the job. 4. He has a good thing going where he is and to talk to us about our job, then not get the job would only unsettle things for sure. Why risk that for a job he isn't ready for and knows he wouldn't get.
I wouldn't find it funny if it was another club, because if you actually think about it for half a second it makes a fuckload of sense. Just another reason to have a snipe at LFC.

Array Rep Power:       57 Reputation:       7039 Yeah but having 12 candidates isn't really a good thing?
Means you don't know what sort of manager you want to take the club forward. Who is actually in charge of the recruiting of a new manager? Is there anyone left?

Array Rep Power:       19 Reputation:       2900 Why? We can only consider people who are available and willing. We are being as thorough as we can to get the right man for the job, and you don't know who that is unless you talk to everyone and research it as thorough as you can.
Also no idea, I imagine we are being advised by someone but haven't said who. Still looking for a director of football but word has it we are structuring that into a few different positions.

Array Rep Power:       14 Reputation:       1971 Not when it's a situation of '(nearly) any change is a good one'.
Not really. This process needs to be extensive, to make absolutely sure LFC are getting the best manager available. Realistically, this is about the last chance to get it right. They should be interviewing even more than 12, frankly.Having 12 possibilities shows that you have no real idea tbh.
Generally in any sport the worst appointments of coaches/managers happen when you've already decided who you want before the interview process has even taken place.Sebastian Vettel - 3x Formula One World Champion - 2010, 2011, 2012

Array Rep Power:       57 Reputation:       7039 Which is why everyone else does i.... oh.
Do you want a yes-man? Do you want somebody that is good at spotting talent? Do you want somebody who is tactically astute? Do you want somebody who is a good man-manager?
You decide which one of those you want, narrow down a short-list and then maybe interview 4-5 for the position.
Why do you think large corporations don't interview 1,000 people for a role? They know what they're looking for before they advertise the position.

Frank De Boer has also rejected the liverpool offer:
Translated:
Frank de Boer has an offer from Liverpool this weekend ignored. The coach of Ajax could at Anfield last week's layoffs follow Kenny Dalglish, but kindly thanked for the honor. De Boer says in De Telegraaf.

"I am honored by the request, but am only just started with Ajax. In Amsterdam we are a new path and I want along with the club and Dennis Bergkamp and Wim Jonk, my colleagues in the technical heart, a good end. Therefore, I remain loyal to Ajax coming years, "De Boer is crystal clear.#FirstTakeCrew #TIACMB
