Array Rep Power:       4 Reputation:       366 Nah its pretentious twats who think they can make a position out of characterising popular misrepresentations, rather than any content that shit me.
Though I do agree that pretending to be superior because all americans are idiots isn't an opinion.
Shame you didn't realise it first time round.

Shame you can't accept the basic reality that these 'popular misrepresentations' exist for a reason and it doesn't take a pretentious twat or someone with a superiority complex to realize it.
It's a country that is the self proclaimed greatest democracy in the world, yet 200 million people don't even bother to vote. Of the people who actually bother to vote, support across the board for republicans and democrats is generally speaking, pretty even. Only problem there is it leaves all the flavor of the month voters who will vote to elect whoever the media tells them to without actually bothering to understand the fundamental principles of the competing candidates. Due to the shear number of these types of voters they have a huge influence on who potentially takes office. That's where my issue lies.Last edited by Jobe; 13th December 2011 at 07:08 AM.

Reminds me, I saw the '99%' in the city on saturday chanting 'Say no to corporate greed, we won't stop till we occupy Perth.'

Array Rep Power:       60 Reputation:       10043 Rick Santorum now starting to surge in Republican Nomination polls.
A guy who advocates intelligent design, is anti-everything under the sun and once blamed catholic sex abuse being centred in Boston on them being too liberal a state with universities such as Harvard etc.
Also very anti-gay, which lead to his last name being coined as a term on urban dictionary
Urban Dictionary: santorum
How do such nutcases rise to such popularity in the states. It just baffles me how someone who here would be cast on the lunatic fringe with Fred Nile gains huge popular support over there.

Array Rep Power:       60 Reputation:       10043 Well you'd think so.
Wonder how much of a factor the process of selecting a candidate is when it comes of ousting an incumbant president. Given that the majority serve two terms, you'd think half of what makes it so difficult to win is the party splitting itself internally for 12 months+ before selection who will run for president, and then attempting to unite behind that candidate. Seems and insane way to do things.

Array Rep Power:       18 Reputation:       3145 Considering the widely regarded second favourite Republican candidate is Santorum, Romney had better fucking come out tops
I'm still staggered as to how and more importantly why religion should play such an important part in the election of the Republican candidate/president, but i guess that's because i've rarely been out of Australia my entire life...
...and we possess a modicum of common sense around these parts to know there's more to leadership than "HURK DERK WE ARE AMUUUURICA, AND GAYS, ABORTIONS AND MUSLIMS ARE PUTTING OUR WAY OF LIFE IS AT RISK"Andrea Pirlo - the Lenny Hayes of international football
