It's kind of sad, it hasn't been a conscious effort not to drink, I just haven't! I haven't been out to a pub/club in a long time... I must be getting old or something

It's actually pretty decent tbh. The games I've played up there have as I said only been filling in when mates have really nagged me too (rarely get a Saturday off and they expect me to drive an hour + for exercise :cuz) so mainly only in the B's for a bit of a run but it was good fun. Like most leagues I guess, there are clubs that are better off that can afford to get good players up there. There seems to be a bigger portion of older dudes than in the suburban leagues, get the right opponent and you can have an absolute day out. Can be tough but. I reckon they are a lot more of a friendly environment out there though. As you assumed, good crowds who love it as well.

Yeah I haven't played properly for a good 4 years now either. Moved interstate to Canberra (played there) for a while and never got back into it seriously when I moved back (getting married and having a kid can do that) other than playing a couple of games up in the hills with a few mate when the needed numbers, mainly for Bridgewater. Live down South though
